Day 4393: Albida Dharmendra!
Sholay was the first Hindi film I remember watching when I was a wee kid even though I didn't fully understand it, and somehow Dharmendra stayed with me more than anyone else. I don’t have many specific memories of his other films, yet I’ve always connected him with Bollywood itself. When his name comes up, Bollywood becomes louder for me.
Hearing of his passing feels surreal — a mix of sadness and nostalgia, as if a small part of Bollywood, and of me, left with him.
Rest in peace, Gentle Giant of Bollywood!
